Stellar XLMStellar, or Stellar Lumens, is an open source, decentralized, and community owned payment network used to facilitate cross-asset transfers of value.
Stellar was founded by Jed McCaleb (the founder of Mt. Gox and co-founder of Ripple) with former lawyer Joyce Kim in 2014. The cryptocurrency, originally known as stellar, was later called Lumens or XLM.
In October 2017, Stellar partnered with IBM and KlickEx to facilitate cross-border transactions in the South Pacific region.
On January 6, 2021, the Ministry of Digital Transformation of Ukraine announced cooperation and partnership with Stellar in development of Ukraine digital infrastructure after which Stellar value increased by 40%.
