I used to enjoy watching crypto YouTube, mostly because it gave me ideas of what to invest in, but I think once you have a portfolio you plan to hold for at least the next year, it’s best to turn it off. Watching it will likely lead to irrational investment decisions. While it’s easy for YouTubers to say “this isn’t financial advice” to cover themselves, it’s much harder for most of us not to be influenced by their thoughts and opinions. I don’t think you need to completely tune out of crypto, but perhaps checking the market once a week or month and then moving on with your day is sufficient. I understand it can be risky as your exchange or favorite coin could fail at any moment, but perhaps stop watching crypto influencers and instead follow unbiased crypto news websites. I wish I had done that months ago; I would have had a lot more money in my account by now.
